Job Overview Step into leadership as an Operations Manager in Locust Grove, FL. In this role you will lead a dedicated team, shape the success of our new shift, and help grow with a global leader in logistics.
You will begin with hands‑on training on the 1st shift (Monday–Friday, some Saturdays, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM) for 4–6 weeks, then transition to the 3rd shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30 PM–5:00 AM) permanently. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on 5S principles.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost‑effective operation and utilization of the facility.
Plan and schedule all logistics services including receiving, inspection, storing, delivery, handling returned/damaged goods, and maintenance.
Perform administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and comply with all applicable regulatory and quality standards.
Plan long‑range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.
Make recommendations to the Business Manager on programs to improve operations.
Attend and, when applicable, host warehouse meetings.
Interact with the Business Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to establish goals.
Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards.
Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary.
Direct the operations of supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives.
Develop procedures to ensure the efficient operation and utilization of all operating equipment.
Develop, implement, and direct programs to ensure the safety and security of all personnel, equipment, and property.
Create and manage a housekeeping program in the warehouse.
Ensure current and accurate inventory control.
Assure that orders are picked and processed timely and within prescribed quality and performance levels.
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of reports regarding warehouse operations.
Budget development with Business Manager/corporate guidance and support; P&L responsibility.
Maintain compliance to ISO 9001 and AS 9100/9120 Quality Management Systems as applicable.
Required Qualifications
5–7 years of management experience in a fast‑paced logistics environment.
Strong customer orientation and problem‑solving skills.
Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment; working knowledge of WMS technologies.
Successful track record in leadership and supervising employees.
Experience with Aerospace or Healthcare industry standards and requirements (preferred).
Experience with ISO 9001 and AS 9100/9120 Quality Management Systems (preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to establish priorities and multi‑task.
