Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. Hourly Pay: $16.00 per hour Schedule: Second Shift Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 12:30 am Benefits

High school diploma or equivalent preferred 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing environment preferred Ability to comprehend basic math Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to work within a diverse work environment Highly thorough and dependable Must be punctual and have a good attendance record Performs work independently with minimal supervision Possesses a high degree of initiative Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; be a team player; create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors) Operate power equipment in a safe manner Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day) Important Note
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned. Responsibilities
Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator:
Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; in addition lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the palamatic machine
Quality: Ensure proper inspection and separation is met Inventory: Conduct physical inventories as required Safety and Security:
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
