Job Title
Project Engineer III at Modular Devices
Location Indianapolis, IN
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this position is a key member of the Engineering team responsible for design and coordination of assigned modular cleanroom and lab projects.
This role involves defining and maintaining design timelines and deliverables, producing construction documents in Revit, coordinating and integrating engineering elements into design for client review and approval, and coordinating design with other disciplines and/or external design groups.
Essential Responsibilities
Produce detailed construction documents for modular cleanroom and labs as assigned.
Create solutions based on customer requirements, while minimizing design lead time and cost by leveraging company standard materials and processes.
Stay updated with the latest building codes and cleanroom & lab technologies.
Develop and manage design deliverables & schedule, collaborate with and coordinate across a variety of teams for project activities.
Review and approve deliverables from external design firms.
Lead client interactions such as defining user requirements, conducting design reviews, managing RFIs & engineering change orders.
Maintain collaborative relationship with production for improving manufacturability, providing technical support and quality conformance assistance.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts for the Cleanroom organization to include implementation of engineering change management process, standardization of project specifications and procurement processes, documentation of lessons learned, and rollout of engineering best practices.
Ensure compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas.
Track and manage engineering documentation in accordance with company and client requirements, ensuring data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.
Promote and adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret regulations, guidance documents, technical manuals, specifications, drawings.
Knowledge of building code compliance, USP 797/800 and cGMPs strongly preferred.
Knowledge of MEP, A&S, and/or modular design required.
Familiar knowledge of cleanroom components, processes, and construction methods.
Excellent communication, organization, planning, problem‑solving and follow‑up skills.
CAD experience required; Revit and AutoCAD experience is a major plus.
Ability to work effectively as a team leader in a diverse work group.
Strong computer skills across the Microsoft suite are a necessity.
Ability to accurately convey information in both spoken and written form.
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient, and adaptable.
Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work efficiently to meet commitments.
Highly communicative and able to manage multiple modes of communication.
High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day‑to‑day activities.
Ability to identify risk and flag concerns to management.
Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers at various levels of the organization.
Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Revit and AutoCAD experience preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Remote Work This role will be primarily performed indoors with limited outdoor construction. If the need arises to work remotely, including nights and weekends, employees are expected to work in a secure location to protect company data and have stable high‑speed internet.
Additional Requirements This is a full‑time position. Employees are expected to work a general schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Employees may be required to work beyond the standard schedule to meet the deliverables and expectations of the role. Employees working from home should use their time wisely and constructively plan their day since there is limited daily oversight.
