About WORK Inc.’s Solidaridad Family Support Center WORK Inc.’s Solidaridad Family Support Center is dedicated to supporting Spanish‑speaking families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in the Greater Boston Area. We strive to empower families by connecting them to resources, services, and community opportunities that foster inclusion and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Guide families as they navigate services, benefits, and community resources
Build strong relationships with local community partners and organizations
Plan and facilitate family workshops, training, social events, and recreational activities
Provide translation and interpretation to ensure clear, accessible communication
Lead support groups, advocacy activities, and leadership initiatives
Coordinate the Family Advisory Council
Collaborate with our AVP of Family Support Services and Communications team to shape outreach, promotional materials, and social media
Use a person‑centered approach and LifeCourse tools to support planning and goal setting
Skills Needed
A culturally responsive leader who is passionate about supporting and empowering families
Experience working with diverse families and communities
Knowledge of the Department of Disability Services (DDS) and local school special education systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Approachability, creativity, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish and English (required)
Full‑time schedule availability with flexibility and occasional weekends
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, with three or more years of experience supporting individuals with ID/DD
Ability to work in various community settings
Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel between community locations
CPR/First Aid certification required (training provided)
Proficiency with Microsoft 365
