Summary The Electrical Maintenance Manager coordinates engineering activities related to the implementation of new processes and the revision of existing processes. This position provides electrical engineering assistance throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

Coordinate allocation of all electrical and automation engineering resources with all plant departments.

Manage all plant electrical maintenance programs to ensure optimum machinery performance and minimum downtime.

Identify plant electrical needs, make capital proposals and be held accountable for areas of responsibility.

Prepare and manage electrical maintenance budget and provide management group with monthly updates.

Develop long‑term electrical plan aimed at establishing preventative and predictive measures to optimize equipment.

Manage installation of new equipment and oversee alterations to all plant buildings and structures.

Conduct and participate in plant meetings regarding operations activities, safety, environmental issues, and special projects.

Participate and champion corporate derived programs to establish company‑wide standards for the electrical and automation policies.

Provide leadership for direct reports in defining expectations, giving feedback and redirection.

Mentor and develop team for personal growth and succession planning.

Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

4‑year Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering.

Minimum 7 years of experience in a professional engineering environment dealing with project management and familiarity with contractors and salespeople.

Experience in a heavy industry with specific office and field experience in engineering design (including PLC usage) and construction.

Proficient in English written, verbal communication and listening skills.

Ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment.

Ability to negotiate effectively.

Knowledge of engineering theories, principles and techniques, especially those regarding electrical engineering.

Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations pertaining to environmental and safety issues.

Knowledge of contract management practices and cement and/or lime manufacturing processes is a plus.

Ability to use and troubleshoot engineering equipment such as measuring devices, calculators, computers and PLCs.

Ability to climb ladders and walk over rocky and uneven surfaces.

Ability to use independent judgment in performing daily activities.

Ability to work in conjunction with and collaborate with others.

Ability to refer to manager for guidance on unusual problems.

Ability to stay current of new technologies, regulations and work procedures and make recommendations.
