Associate Attorney – Criminal Defense Perryman Law Firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing criminal defense practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who wants meaningful courtroom experience, strong mentorship, and long-term growth within a firm that is intentionally scaling.

What You’ll Do

Represent clients in criminal matters from intake through resolution

Appear in court for hearings, negotiations, and trials

Draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda

Communicate directly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

What We’re Looking For

Licensed attorney (or pending admission) in good standing

Criminal law experience preferred, but not required

Strong work ethic, professionalism, and attention to detail

Desire to grow with a firm—not just hold a position

Compensation & Benefits

$70,000 – $100,000 base salary (DOE)

Minimum Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Licensed to practice law in the state (or pending admission with imminent licensure)

Strong legal research and writing skills

Ability to appear confidently in court and communicate professionally with judges, prosecutors, and clients

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines

Preferred Experience

Prior experience in criminal law (public defender, prosecutor, private defense, or clinic experience preferred)

Courtroom experience handling hearings, motions, or trials

Client-facing experience with demonstrated professionalism and empathy
