LOGISTICS/Production Coordinator 3rd Shift

Job Description
Perform administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping and on-time delivery of product. Communicate and coordinate with transportation companies and other departments and handle routine questions and problems throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. Confirm the accuracy of invoices, bills and charges relative to shipments. Maintain records and generates reports for accounting and other areas. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Responsibilities
Tender freight orders to preferred company carriers, ensure on-time delivery of product, and effectively manage costs and revenue for Kroger managed freight
Assist Transportation Supervisor in procuring freight, identifying transportation requirements, handling freight bid negotiations and making carrier selection
Monitor inbound TMS systems to ensure carrier acceptance and rating of shipments
Audit freight payment process for accuracy and timeliness through current freight payment systems
Prepare financial performance reports weekly, at period end and quarter close related to Kroger managed freight
Communicate regularly with various customers such as procurement, manufacturing, suppliers, shipping & receiving, carriers and the Kroger Distribution Centers
Collaborate with Distribution Center Transportation teams to promote the movement of inbound freight on the company's available fleet resources
Plan and schedule fleet pickups at vendor locations
Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications Minimum
High School Diploma or GED
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to work off scheduled hours inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays
Ability to learn and operate Kroger programs and systems
Strong follow-up and accountability skills
Committed to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important and appreciated
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong time management skills
Flexibility to handle ever changing scope of assignments and projects
Ability to prioritize/multi-task while providing accurate/on-time results
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Desired
Bachelor's Degree
Any experience in a Customer Service problem resolution role
Any experience in distribution shipping/receiving, general freight hauling, direct store delivery or backhaul transportation operations
