Base pay range: $15.92/hr - $25.00/hr
Location: 968 Parkway Ave, Ewing, NJ 08618 (Full-Time / Part-Time)
URGE FITNESS is seeking reliable, detail-oriented, and physically capable individuals to join our team as Facility Cleaners. This position is critical to maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for members and staff and requires comfort with intensive, hands‑on cleaning tasks in a fitness facility setting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform deep scrubbing and detailed cleaning of all areas of the gym, including locker rooms, bathrooms, workout floors, and equipment.
Mop, vacuum, sweep, and sanitize all floor surfaces.
Clean and disinfect high‑touch areas such as door handles, railings, lockers, and seating.
Restock hygiene and janitorial supplies as needed (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, sanitizer).
Safely use cleaning tools and products, including multi‑purpose cleaners, floor cleaners, disinfectants, and bleach‑based solutions.
Follow all product usage instructions, dilution guidelines, and safety standards.
Wear gloves at all times when handling cleaning chemicals or performing sanitation duties.
Properly store cleaning supplies and equipment after use.
Safety and Authorization Policy
Staff are NOT AUTHORIZED to enter locker rooms designated for the opposite gender without speaking directly with the Manager on Duty and ensuring the locker room is fully cleared of all members prior to entry.
Failure to confirm locker rooms are cleared before entering is a serious safety concern for both staff and members.
Any violation of this policy will result in immediate termination.
Physical Requirements
Stand for the entire duration of the shift.
Frequently bend, squat, kneel, and move up and down.
Perform repetitive motions.
Lift, carry, push, or pull 45+ pounds comfortably.
Work on knees and in confined spaces (bathrooms, showers, equipment areas).
General Duties & Expectations
Maintain consistent attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
Follow all written and verbal cleaning schedules and checklists.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management immediately.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Be dependable, punctual, and professional.
Follow all URGE FITNESS policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Schedule & Availability
Flexible scheduling based on facility needs.
Morning, day, evening, and/or weekend shifts may be required.
Qualifications
Prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred (but not required).
Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols precisely.
Comfortable working in a gym environment.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly.
Work Environment
Fitness facility with heavy foot traffic.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals (PPE provided and required).
Fast‑paced, active environment.
