Buyer
Position Summary The Buyer is responsible for purchasing all raw materials and maintenance supplies, customer service, managing shipping and receiving, and material planning.
Essential Job Functions
Verify all orders for acceptance
Order materials to support the production schedule
Purchase all raw materials
Purchase machine components and maintenance supplies
Maintain vendor list and ratings
Customer service – complaints, inquiries, etc.
Produce customer on‑time delivery report
Produce inventory reports for month end
Manage all facets of shipping & receiving: shipping list, returns, personnel and truck drivers, etc.
Manage all facets of material planning
Utilize six‑sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes
Maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.’s owned by your position
Review all procedures related to your job per “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
Complete all training required by Job Description in “HR LG 01 Training Matrix” within the stated time
Perform other duties as assigned
Regular and punctual attendance
Follow all Company policies and procedures
Requirements ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
Skill Requirements
Basic office skills
Strong communication skills
Experience / knowledge of using an ERP system
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1‑5 years’ experience in purchasing
Computer literacy (primarily Microsoft Excel, Word and other pertinent software)
Ability to work independently and under pressure while handling several tasks and setting priorities
Work Environment
Requires exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment are required
Ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility
Physical Demands
Sit or stand as needed
Walk primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
Reach above shoulder height, below the waist, or lift as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday
Use proper lifting techniques
Work in small confined spaces while following safety protocol
Accomplish the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
