Position Overview In this role, you would directly impact our goal of aggressively growing renewable asset production. You will lead development projects from beginning to end, overseeing cross‑functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. This role focuses on developing renewable projects located in the Central Region.
Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner.
Key Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of the day‑to‑day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing renewable asset business opportunities
Experience leading projects that require land acquisition, permitting, zoning, environmental studies, and interconnection evaluations
Experience with project valuations, commercial agreements and tax abatements
Experience in leading cross‑functional teams
Experience with implementing project management principles and process design
Experience & proficiency with corporate finance principles
Experience & proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
Comfortability in community engagement
Candidates with prior energy experience, an MBA or a relevant graduate degree are highly preferred
Required Qualifications
High School Grad/GED
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 3+ years
Additional Information Location: Juno Beach, FL (remote flexibility available for candidates located in Nebraska or Kansas). Travel of approximately 30% within the region is required.
