Summary The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing and logistics tasks for Hanwha Q CELLS USA Inc. The role involves organizing, controlling, and monitoring spare‑parts purchasing activities for all teams and subsidiary materials for the production team, while implementing purchasing strategies that maximize contributions to the operating result. The position works in a cross‑functional team environment within Hanwha Q Cells USA Inc. and its subsidiaries, and coordinates with Asia plants.

Responsibilities

Track the progress of purchase orders from creation to delivery.

Check PR/PO/GR/payment closing in QPS (Purchasing System) & SAP, including monthly AP closing.

Determine purchase orders based on sales forecasts and stock levels, communicating weekly with planning and production teams.

Review PRs created by other teams, issue POs in QPS, manage goods receipt, article creation/modification, and system flow.

Coordinate payment releases in QPS per vendor invoices and negotiated terms, and resolve financial issues with Finance.

Serve as key contact for inventory management coordination with planning and logistics teams.

Manage out‑of‑stock and risk situations with related services (quality, import, packaging, marketing).

Negotiate with overseas vendors and propose logistics solutions that best fit each part.

Prepare monthly performance reports on expenditures and savings (cost reduction, innovation, avoidance) aligned with the business plan.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—planning, finance, logistics, production, quality—to support purchasing tasks.

Negotiate with external accounts for competitive unit price and contract terms, collaborating with HQ purchasing for raw materials.

Supervise suppliers’ performance regarding lead time, reactivity, reliability, and flexibility.

Participate in plant production planning and capacity optimization.

Help optimize inland and overseas transport to reduce costs.

Manage purchasing tasks by supplier type to fit material properties.

Maintain close relationships with suppliers concerning raw material management, lead time, expedition, and reception.

Intensively manage issues with suppliers as they arise.

Act as key supply‑chain contact for specified supplier scopes.

Build a strong collaboration network with other supply‑chain services to synchronize processes.

Adhere to Hanwha Q CELLS policies and procedures.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related fields.

0–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply‑chain roles.

Strong knowledge of purchasing/procurement, production planning, or finance.

Proficiency in MS Excel.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, climate‑controlled environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk in the production area throughout the workday.

Capacity to reach, push, pull, or lift within limits set by Q Cells.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience.

Experience in high‑tech manufacturing and startups.

Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.

Proficiency in CAD programs.

Bilingual fluency in Korean and English.
