Directional Drill Operator
to support ongoing and upcoming projects and join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities
Operate Vermeer and Ditch Witch directional drills to install underground utilities such as fiber optic cables and conduits.
Perform bore path planning and execute safe and precise drilling.
Coordinate with locators and ground crews to avoid existing underground utilities.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
Interpret and work from construction maps, utility prints, and electronic diagrams.
Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and property owners as needed in English; bilingual is a plus.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, material used and daily activities.
Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations and guidelines.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
Identify and report hazardous conditions or damage to utility infrastructure.
Work collaboratively with ground crews, operators, and field supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe and working condition.
Perform various other general labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
3+ years proven experience operating both Vermeer and Ditch Witch directional drills.
Ability to accurately read and interpret construction maps and utility plans.
Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to job site safety.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Current and valid auto insurance.
Must pass a pre‑employment drug test and criminal background check.
Reliable transportation and ability to work independently in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred, but not required.
OSHA safety certifications or other relevant training a plus.
Additional Requirements
Overnight travel is required for some projects. Travel assignments may span from a few days to several consecutive weeks. Lodging will be provided as applicable.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently.
