Land Development Project Manager – VHB
VHB, a leading firm in Planning, Engineering, and Environmental Sciences with offices from Maine to Florida, seeks a Land Development Project Manager to work in the Raleigh, NC office.
This role supports a wide variety of projects, including mixed‑use, biotech, residential, multifamily, affordable housing, industrial, and hospitality developers.
Responsibilities
Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, and staffing needs while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organization.
Oversee and engage in the development of existing client relationships, including conducting periodic meetings, developing proposals and budgets, and gathering feedback with teammates.
Prepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Analyze complex technical challenges and develop new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions.
Promote career development, training, and career path planning for all direct team members.
Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects.
Skills and Attributes
Willingness to learn and implement integrated services projects in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Knowledge of land development construction, codes, and development regulations.
Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential.
Interest in growing business development skills.
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
8‑11 years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects (preferred).
PE licensure in NC or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, and stormwater management.
Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
Understanding of the North Carolina market.
Experience with GIS systems is a plus.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, and MS Office.
