Responsibilities
Perform complex maintenance and operational tasks on all natural gas process equipment and systems.
Minimize unplanned shutdowns through root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to improve safety.
Fix and maintain process control systems and instrumentation.
Partner with project managers to define scope and instrumentation specifications for new projects.
Maintain and operate equipment such as glycol dehydration systems, cryogenic processing units, fractionation plants, reciprocating and turbine compressors.
Perform electrical troubleshooting of low to high voltage equipment, repair instrumentation, and calibrate control valves.
Participate in root cause analysis and execute corrective actions to minimize recurrence of unplanned shutdowns.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to troubleshoot and maintain process control systems.
Initiate and complete work orders and requisitions, documenting all critical information.
Install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, instrumentation and analytical equipment following electrical code and procedures.
Inspect instrumentation periodically and perform calibrations to ensure accuracy.
Perform some programming and controls work.
Education & Experience
Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an Operations Technician or similar role, including one (1) year experience as an I&E Technician.
Preferred: Associates or 2‑year technical degree and minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an Operations Technician in the Oil and Gas industry.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces.
Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed.
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time.
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE.
Use hand tools.
Shift / Work Hours / Travel Requirements
Available to work after‑hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises.
May be required to work overtime, 10‑12 hour shifts, and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.
Examples of rotating shifts include:
Weekends: 7 pm–7 am and Thursday & Friday 3 pm–11 pm.
Weekends: 7 am–7 pm and Monday & Tuesday 3 pm–11 pm.
Monday‑Friday: 7 am–3 pm, 3 pm–11 pm, 11 pm–7 am.
Other Requirements
Must possess a valid State Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
Demonstrate aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes.
Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the utmost priority.
Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
Previous experience working in an environment with gas‑plant operations, gas compression, and/or liquid or gas gathering processes.
Previous experience in the mechanical, electrical, and/or maintenance industry.
