The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the deployment of customer orders to the Distribution Center shop floor, using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage resource capacity and prevent bottlenecks and inbound/outbound delays. The role ensures all customer orders are shipped based on priority while maintaining Customer Service Levels. Responsibilities
Monitors and assesses WMS, Blue Yonder, and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) to determine workflow efficiency. Coordinates the daily workflow with the Operations Manager and Lift Truck personnel. Identifies inefficiencies in workflow between replenishment, picking, put away, inventory control, and shipping; makes wave and labor adjustments as needed. Monitors the order queue and ensures balanced labor, equipment, and warehouse work tasks. Ensures loads are ready to be shipped by monitoring time cut-offs. Executes the daily work plan created by the site Wave Planner; resolves and escalates issues appropriately. Plans, releases, and ensures timely completion of waves, interleaving tasks, and cross-dock opportunities in the WMS. Completes New Hire Introductory Period Reviews at 14, 45, and 90 days with all new hourly employees. Ensures timely unload of hot inbound shipments, consolidation moves, and replenishment moves. Utilizes reports to monitor workflow progress. Communicates with the Operations Manager on wave progress and problems. Updates shipping schedules. Monitors and maintains automation traffic control systems within the warehouse. Maintains yard and door trailer statuses. Ensures safety by conducting safety audits, training, and fostering a safety‑oriented culture. Acts as UKG Time Approver. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Qualifications
BA/BS Degree preferred and/or 3‑5 years of business experience in distribution/warehouse logistics. Experience with WMS, JDA, Blue Yonder, and UKG. Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP. Self‑directed with the ability to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies or potential issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem identification and follow‑through to issue resolution. Ability to work well with a variety of individuals. Understanding of automated distribution. Benefits
