HDR, Inc.
Primary responsibilities of HDR's Transportation Engineer in the Austin office relate to roadway and highway design and include:
Using state, county, and city or other applicable standards to prepare horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and right of way plans for transportation-related civil engineering projects.
Working with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for civil engineering projects of various sizes and complexity, including:
Roadway Typical Sections
3D Roadway Modeling
Roadway Design Cross Sections
Alignment/Right of Way Plans
Temporary Erosion Control Plans
Site Preparation Plans
Roadway geometric design of horizontal and vertical alignments
Drainage Plans and Profiles
Utility Plans
Paving
Pavement Marking Plans
Signing Plans
Traffic Control Plans
Quantity calculations
Development of Engineers Opinion of Probable Construction Costs
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
6 months' experience in transportation engineering.
Required experience may include professional, internship, or graduate research experience and must include experience in: MicroStation; AutoCAD; InRoads; VISSIM; MatLAB; and SignCAD.
Accepting licensed and unlicensed candidates. Professional Engineering licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.
