Job Overview: The Production Manager is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity for our high‑speed, high‑volume manufacturing department. This includes organizing and directing manufacturing activities across shifts, providing leadership, direction, and facilitation of Production Supervisors and Teams in close coordination with Maintenance, Quality, Planning and Warehousing to achieve operational goals.

Essex, VT
at our coffee processing facility.
Shift & Schedule This is a full‑time position on our
N2
shift working
6:00pm to 6:15am , Friday‑Sunday, Alt Thursdays. Flexibility for additional coverage outside of these hours, including potential weekends and/or holidays, is also required as needed.
Position Responsibilities
Establish a proactive safety culture of zero incidents while promoting and ensuring the completion of safety trainings and programs.
Direct all departmental related activities to ensure the timely execution of the production schedule to meet production and service goals through day‑to‑day execution.
Manage departmental quality requirements to ensure food safety and product quality.
Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5‑S requirements. Develop a plan to progress the TPM program based on the KDP playbook.
Determine optimum staffing model for the line operations. Provide effective cross training and development for a flexible workforce.
Promote team engagement and morale adhering to KDP values. Ability to generate enthusiasm, commitment, and performance from others in the quest to develop high‑performance teams.
Have a track record of successful continuous improvement initiatives and results, with a focus upon lean manufacturing and 5‑S. Lead and support Focused Improvement events to ensure expected OEE is met/exceeded.
Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policy, coach, administer discipline, and ensure positive employee relations. Build bench strength through active development of direct reports.
Be well organized, high energy, data driven, and results oriented.
Performance Metrics
Safety: Recordable Rate, Near miss.
Quality: Yield %, # of Quality holds / waste reduction.
Delivery: equipment performance, reduction of unplanned downtime.
Productivity: Cases/Labor Hour, OEE.

Payment & Benefits
Salary Range: $96,800 – $140,000.
Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical degrees (Engineering/Technology) preferred. Others considered with relevant experience.
3+ years of experience in a management/supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with lean, kaizen/six sigma events and driving lean transformation with proven results in a manufacturing environment (5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Poka, Visual Factory Management, and leading Kaizen events).
Computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to understand basic statistics.
Demonstrated work experience of team building and development.
Self‑starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong time management skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Able to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.
