Summary We are seeking a Mid‑level Operations Domain Support Engineer to support the Global System Support Engineers (GSSE) under USSOCOM PEO SDA. The role provides software‑agnostic field support for forward‑deployed users of operational, advanced analytic intelligence support and delivers technical and analytical mission planning and execution systems support to USSOCOM components, Theater Special Operations Commands, and other mission forces.
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Global support to operations; work with assigned units to understand unit‑specific requirements and report to SOCOM all operation capability gaps for software and technology at the unit level.
Assist, collaborate, coordinate, and synchronize efforts as required with appropriate Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) and relevant Joint Task Forces; has a solid understanding of Task Organization as it pertains to Command and Control (C2) supporting or supported and command relationships.
GSSE operations domain support includes attending and maintaining situation awareness on Area of Responsibility (AoR) level working groups as it pertains to Mission Command and C2 efforts to include but not limited to COP Working Groups, Joint Fires Working Group, Sustainment, Protection and Tactical Data Link (TADL) Working Groups.
Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Requires knowledge of SOCOM and Joint Staff operations and targeting cycles; understanding of Tactical Data Links and routing of COP data.
Must know, support, and teach all SOCOM and Joint Staff programs of record for COP management, Operational Area of Interest (OAI) management, Commander Critical Information Requirements (CCIR) management, as well as other software programs available to units that support an operational requirement.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in a technical support position and Operational or Intelligence Community (IC) operations, platforms, functions, and terminology experience.
Minimum 4 years operational experience with or supporting an organization’s navigation and mission planning techniques including preparation and checkout of flight plans for aircraft weapons systems OR mission planning computer systems, communications, mission equipment, and planning techniques including preparation of unit mission plans for conduct of peacetime and wartime special operations missions.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
