Part-Time Shipping & Receiving Specialist
We’re seeking a dependable, detail-driven Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join our Purchasing team. This role blends hands‑on shipping & receiving warehouse work with administrative support.

Key Details
Schedule:
25 hours/week; Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM (less 30 minutes for lunch) Some holidays required.
Pay:
$15.00/hour

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Support
Assist with processing purchasing orders in the Procurify system for zoo‑wide needs
Coordinate with departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
Shipping & Receiving Operations
Load/unload deliveries using forklift and pallet jack
Inspect incoming shipments and verify accuracy and condition.
Prepare outgoing shipments with proper documentation and labeling
Direct delivery drivers and vendors to appropriate areas
Mail & Print Services
Manage incoming and outgoing mail for the facility
Operate and maintain in‑house printing equipment for departmental needs
Fleet & Vendor Coordination
Schedule fleet requests for Honda Vans and Transit.
Provide phone support for shipping/receiving inquiries.
Provide phone support for internal Zoo department inquiries.
Communicate with vendors and drivers to ensure smooth logistics
Facility & Grounds Management
Maintain cleanliness and organization of outdoor shipping/receiving areas
Ensure safety protocols are followed in both indoor and outdoor workspaces
Qualifications
Forklift certification (required within 60 days of hire) - Scheduled and paid for by the Zoo
Ability to operate pallet jacks
Familiarity with mail handling and basic print operations
Strong communication skills, especially over the phone
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Organized, dependable, and proactive in problem‑solving
Previous experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, or procurement systems desired
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated affinity for the mission of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.
Willingness to live the Zoo’s Core Values and Behaviors on a daily basis.
Ability to self‑motivate, take initiative, & perform work autonomously, as well as with a team.
Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and shift priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
