Materials Manager – San Antonio
JCB North America is seeking a dynamic Materials Manager to lead our supply chain operations in the new 1‑million square‑foot manufacturing plant in San Antonio, Texas. The role will manage inbound and outbound logistics, internal material flows, and ensure precision and efficiency across the production process.
Location and Compensation San Antonio, TX – Competitive salary range $61,700 to $80,925 annually (based on experience).
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the sales team to align stocking plans with forecasted demand.
Create and maintain SOPs for production control processes.
Manage inventory forecasting in line with expected sales and new product targets.
Coordinate new product launches with production timelines to ensure smooth transitions.
Track material supply against launch plans and proactively raise issues.
Develop KPIs that drive improvements in production efficiency and customer delivery.
Interpret production data to support ‘make vs. buy’ decisions.
Plan production capacity and balance workloads across teams.
Identify bottlenecks and work with manufacturing engineering to resolve them.
Report on adherence to production sequences and operational performance.
Support operational activities linked to strategic growth initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory management within a manufacturing setting.
Strong background in supply chain management, production planning, or materials control.
Experience managing budgets, systems, and supplier relationships on a global scale.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
In‑depth knowledge of inventory control processes and best practices.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Negotiation and supplier management skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Comfortable in a full‑time office environment.
Customer service oriented, flexible, and high energy level.
Excellent follow‑through skills.
Professional, polished, and sophisticated demeanor.
Open to domestic and international travel.
Desire and proven ability to learn and grow.
Physical Requirements Regular duties include sitting and using hands to reach and manipulate objects; occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
