Residential Team Leader

Position: Residential Team Leader
Organization: Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson
Location: All Straight & Narrow locations (Paterson, NJ)
Hours: Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑4:30 pm with one late night shift 12:00 pm‑8:00 pm
Regular Salary: $23.00‑$25.00 per hour
Sign‑on bonus: $3,000 (full‑time, new employees only)
Job Summary
As a line counselor, the Team Leader will provide leadership and oversight of specific program and clinical operations as instructed by the program’s clinical supervisor. Responsibilities focus on working with the clinical staff to ensure provision of services based upon the organization’s policies and procedures and licensing standards.
Leadership Responsibilities
Maintain a minimum caseload as required by program level of care.
Supervise the counseling team as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Director.
Provide oversight of the clinical coverage of services.
Participate in scheduled team meetings.
Provide the Clinical Director with monthly program status reports.
Participate in the program’s strategic planning process and implement strategic initiatives.
Plan, develop and initiate program development initiatives with the treatment team.
Participate in design and implementation of policies and procedures.
Finance & Human Resources
Assist in oversight and manage submission of daily billing of services provided.
Assist in departmental orientation and training of counseling staff and interns.
Assist in development and implementation of a Volunteer Services Program.
Obtain/maintain appropriate licenses/certifications; pursue professional development.
Programs
Assist in maintenance of county and state contracts; be available for site visits.
Obtain and maintain appropriate licensure for agency.
Work with Clinical Supervisor and Director on program development.
Make recommendations to clinical team regarding admission of new residents.
Input client data into NJSAMS and monitor LOCI renewals as needed.
Facilitate groups and/or individual sessions (process and educational).
Ensure clients are compliant with medical and psychiatric treatment recommendations; document on treatment plans.
Act as member of treatment team, providing clinical assistance to residents.
Actively participate in staff meetings, clinical team meetings, supervision.
Continue to upgrade skills by attending relevant training and workshops.
Participate on at least one CQI committee.
Provide mental health services to clients with co‑occurring disorders, including assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention.
Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and appropriate boundaries at all times while delivering direct services or representing agency.
Qualifications
LCADC, CADC, or BA/MA/MSW/LAC/LSW or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in addictions treatment program experience.
Thorough understanding of multiple needs of substance abuse disorder population and evidence‑based treatment services.
If not holding LCADC/CADC, must be obtained within 3 years from date of hire.
