Position Overview As a Kiewit Superintendent, you will be responsible for a variety of field activities to execute construction work on our projects. In the first few years you will spend time learning and working on work plans, shop drawings, submittals, 5‑week schedules, craft supervision, and project documentation. As you learn and execute, you will travel across the country building complex projects that profoundly impact communities. We seek people committed to the construction industry and the field.

Responsibilities

Provide supervisory direction of craft workers through foremen, managing performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence.

Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications.

Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents, subcontractors, Kiewit staff and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.

Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project management as appropriate.

Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.

Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including safety, attendance and workplace behavior standards, and the company’s non‑harassment and non‑discrimination policies.

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience overseeing self‑perform underground pipe work in a heavy‑civil construction environment.

Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, union agreements, jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and related documents.

Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.

Highly motivated with a passion for excellence and initiative.

Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right on the first attempt.

Commitment to ethics and integrity.

Passion for safety, ensuring nobody gets hurt.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Team player capable of working independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives.

Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.

Ability to travel as needed.
