POSITION OVERVIEW The Warehouse Lead oversees daily warehouse operations and provides direction, support, and motivation to warehouse employees. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of warehouse activities to ensure efficient workflows, safe practices, and successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
Oversee and direct day‑to‑day warehouse activities.
Prioritize and allocate workload to meet operational demands.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment; identify and address safety hazards.
Train new warehouse associates in material handling, product identification, and system transactions.
Support shipping, receiving, and material movement between the warehouse and production facility.
Unload trucks using a forklift or crane; check in orders and match them to purchase orders.
Accurately stock materials both physically and within warehouse systems.
Read and process customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine required material movement.
Record received materials in the appropriate database.
Document purchase orders, part numbers, and project details for all incoming and outgoing items.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support process improvement initiatives.
Assist team members with entering labor hours into the company ERP system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of related factory or warehouse experience.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficient in basic computer operations, including data entry and warehouse software navigation.
Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanning devices.
Comfortable with digital tools such as email, spreadsheets, and shipping software.
Previous forklift experience required; certification preferred.
Ability to perform freight‑handling duties using a manual pallet jack or forklift.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for working with warehouse staff, leadership, and cross‑functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and make decisions to achieve goals.
Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple work orders simultaneously.
Commitment to continuous improvement and safe work practices.
Physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs. regularly and perform standing, bending, crouching, and reaching tasks.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable attendance, and excellent safety awareness.
Work Experience
3+ years of related factory or warehouse experience and/or training.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses / Certifications
Forklift or material‑handling equipment certification (required or obtainable after hire).
