Periwinkle Group is seeking results-driven, consultative Business Development Associates to support the firm’s continued growth across public relations, strategic marketing, communications, advertising, public affairs, political campaigns, community engagement, and nonprofit partnerships.
This role is ideal for professionals who excel at relationship-based selling, strategic outreach, partnership development, and revenue generation within professional services environments. The Business Development Associate will play a key role in expanding Periwinkle Group’s footprint across corporate, government, nonprofit, and political sectors—while also supporting the firm’s selected nonprofit network through strategic partnerships, sponsorship development, and event-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across public relations, marketing, communications, advertising, public affairs, political consulting, community engagement, and nonprofit services
Build and maintain relationships with corporate executives, brand leaders, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, foundations, political campaigns, and key decision-makers
Conduct consultative discovery meetings to understand client objectives, scope of work, timelines, and budget parameters
Collaborate with internal strategy, creative, communications, and project teams to develop customized proposals, partnership models, and integrated service solutions
Prepare and deliver professional presentations, pitches, and proposals that clearly articulate Periwinkle Group’s value proposition
Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial outreach through contract execution and client handoff
Maintain a robust and active sales pipeline while consistently working toward or exceeding revenue targets
Support Periwinkle Group’s selected nonprofit network by:
Assisting with partnership development, sponsorship outreach, and stakeholder engagement
Supporting event planning, coordination, and on-site execution for nonprofit and community-based initiatives
Helping align nonprofit partnerships with corporate, government, and philanthropic opportunities
Represent Periwinkle Group at industry events, nonprofit functions, client meetings, community activations, and networking engagements
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging opportunities in communications, public affairs, political consulting, and nonprofit engagement
Maintain accurate records of leads, activities, partnerships, and opportunities within CRM and reporting systems
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, partnerships, or client acquisition, preferably within professional services, marketing, PR, public affairs, political consulting, or nonprofit sectors
Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue and partnership goals in a consultative, relationship-driven environment
Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated experience building and sustaining long-term client and partner relationships
Self-starter with excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales reporting tools
Ability to travel for client meetings, events, and industry engagements (up to approximately 50%)
