FACILITY ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR, FT Evening

Schedule: 3 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., varied days to include evenings, weekends and holidays. New hires train for 4–6 weeks on the day shift regardless of shift assigned.
Principal Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring high quality customer service.
Collect and verify patient and insurance demographics, benefits, and pre‑certifications using Epic.
Provide cost estimates, accept co‑pays and deposits, and facilitate financial assistance.
Offer wayfinding to clinics and assist with registration and admissions paperwork.
Maintain regulatory knowledge, accurate billing reports, and clerical duties.
Educate patients on insurance coverage and communicate coverage issues to service areas.
Coordinate with provider scheduling templates and Care Management/Social Work teams for reimbursement.
Assist supervisor in training new admitting staff.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
Certification and membership in local organizations such as AAHAM or NAHAM preferred.
1 year of clerical or customer service experience in a healthcare setting required; 2 years preferred.
Compensation: $17–$20.77 per hour with shift differentials. Other benefits include UMMS 2025–2026 Benefits Guide.
