Wine Industry Expo
We are seeking an experienced Tasting Room Manager, initially for 40 hours a week or more, to join our fun and exciting team. The position will report directly to the President. The Tasting Room Manager will be responsible for making sure our guests receive a 5-star experience each and every time they visit. The ideal candidate is a person who is extremely passionate about wine, has extensive knowledge of not only the Temecula Wine Region but various regions across the USA and around the world, and has previously worked for a winery in the same position for 3+ years.
Job Description Details
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tasting room which includes tastings, visitor relations, and staff performance
Train and supervise tasting room employees
Create and execute engaging, educational, and memorable positive experiences for guests
Effectively suggest and promote wine sales & club memberships to customers
Positive execution of winery and guest events
Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of our winery and our wines
Greets visitors to the Winery and pours wines for tasting
Educate customers about wine, the history of our winery and vineyards, and of the Temecula Valley Wine Region
Assist customers with transporting wine to customer vehicles when needed
Answer visitor questions and able to provide general tourist information
Creating work schedule
Ordering merchandise for the winery.
May be assigned other tasks or be asked to participate in other activities both
on-site and off-site as needed, and additional duties related to wine and/or
customer service
Hours and Compensation
$28- $32 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips and commission.
Qualifications
Minimum two years experience in a management role within a winery
Extensive wine knowledge — WSET or Court of Masters Sommelier qualifications preferred
Proficient and or familiar with POS systems, Wine Software, toast.
Knowledge of tasting rooms and grape-growing regions inside and outside of the Temecula Valley
Professional appearance and demeanor
Excellent sales ability to maximize wine club and tasting room sales
Merchandising experience for order and tasting room stocking
Warm and friendly, outgoing and trustworthy
Able to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays and evenings)
General math skills, be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions and percentages
>Excellent verbal communication, customer service, ability to resolve conflict, teamwork, persistence, selling to customer needs, thoughtfulness, professionalism, client relationship building Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Excellent people skills, able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times
Ability to multi-task and be situationally aware of your surroundings
Able to perform quality work efficiently and with minimal supervision
Open to working on-site special events after hours if needed
Open to working other special events off-property when needed
You must be open to change, and able to be responsive and flexible to last-minute requests

Manage operational budgets by controlling labor costs, cost of goods sold, and other key expenses.

Address guest concerns with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution.
Partner with marketing and retail teams to design and execute engaging promotions, events, and guest experiences.
Conduct regular performance reviews and support ongoing training and career development for team members.
