Overview

Early Childhood Education/Head Start position at Metropolitan Family Services. Full‑time, on‑site, UTC 12‑22‑2025. Locations

Learning & Wellness Center, 5338 S Loomis St, Chicago, IL 60609, USA. Responsibilities

Collaborate with Family Support Workers, Teachers, Program Aides, site partners, and supervisor to enhance classroom and family outcomes. Guide and facilitate children’s activities, ensure appropriate child guidance and discipline, and maintain proper child‑to‑staff ratios. Use Teaching Strategies Gold to maintain ongoing, high‑quality documentation of school readiness skills; maintain interrater reliability. Ensure curriculum fidelity and submit weekly lesson plans, including individualized plans and accommodations listed in IEPs and IFSPs. Provide active supervision to ensure child safety during classroom, transitions, transportation, and playground times; ensure no child is left unsupervised. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. PEL or Gateway ECE Level 5 Credential while working toward receiving required PEL. Additional Requirements

Pass all screenings and criminal background checks. Physical Demands

Sit and stand for sustained periods; frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle objects; occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch; close visual acuity required for data preparation and computer terminal use. Benefits
