OUTSIDE SALES ENGINEER-Commercial HVAC/Hydronics
We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Engineer to grow and manage commercial HVAC and hydronic equipment sales throughout the Anchorage and surrounding Alaska market. This role is ideal for a technically strong, self-motivated sales professional who thrives in an autonomous territory and values long-term customer relationships. NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Key Responsibilities Spend approximately 60% of time in the field developing new business and managing existing accounts Sell commercial engineered HVAC and hydronic equipment to contractors, engineers, building owners, and facilities teams Build and maintain strong, consultative customer relationships Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities Prepare and present sales proposals and quotations for commercial construction projects Review and interpret construction drawings and bid documents Provide technical and application support throughout the project lifecycle Track opportunities, projects, and follow-ups using CRM tools (Salesforce / FinancialForce) Monitor competitor activity and identify market growth opportunities Required Qualifications Typically 8–15+ years of experience in commercial HVAC or hydronic equipment sales, applications, distribution, manufacturing, or fabrication Proven success negotiating and closing commercial construction projects Strong knowledge of hydronic systems and HVAC equipment Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and professionally Strong time management, organization, and territory planning skills Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience covering large or remote geographic territories Familiarity with Alaska construction, energy, industrial, or military markets Experience with FinancialForce or similar ERP systems College education or continued education in sales, engineering, or business What We Offer Competitive base salary with incentive compensation Long-term growth opportunity in an employee-owned company (100% ESOP) High level of autonomy and ownership of the Alaska territory Strong technical support and established manufacturer relationships Stable organization focused on long‑term success Travel Requirements Regular travel within the assigned Alaska territory
