The City of Virginia Beach is recruiting for a Planning Aide to join the Development Services Center division of the Planning & Community Development Department. This position will join a managing the development review process for a variety of different projects.
The position may be classified as a Planning Aide I or Planning Aide II depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

G16 $36,753.60 - $56,971.20
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to;
Perform clerical and routine administrative work as assigned.
Accept plans into Accela to initiate the development review process.
Assign plans to project manager based on geographic location and input information into Accela, database and GIS map.
Route development plans to various review agencies based on the type of plan submitted.
Gather information for FOIA requests.
Assist developers, owners, consultants and staff with questions regarding development projects in the review process, their status, procedures and general questions.
Provide customers answers regarding the intake process.
Compose and provide correspondence to consultants, developers, homeowners and city agencies.
The City offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, and life insurance, retirement and saving plans, maternity/paternity and parental leave, holidays, and paid leave.
