The Seasonal Parking Enforcement Officer, under the direction of the Supervisor of Enforcement, is primarily responsible for parking enforcement within the Town. This role also includes assisting with minor maintenance and resupply of parking meters. The successful candidate will represent the Town in a professional and courteous manner while ensuring compliance with municipal parking by-laws.
Key Responsibilities
Enforce municipal parking by-laws and issue parking violations as required.
Assist with minor maintenance, resupply, and monitoring of parking meters.
Interact courteously and professionally with the public, providing information and support regarding parking regulations.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to enforcement activities.
Follow all safety protocols and Town policies while performing duties.
Qualifications
Equivalent to completion of a college program in Law & Security is preferred.
Minimum six (6) months of experience in parking enforcement.
Clean Record of Offences and screening report required.
Valid Class G Driver’s Licence.
Experience working in a customer service environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Analytical ability and solutions-oriented approach.
Physical ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift 9–13 kg (20–30 lbs).
Working Conditions
Seasonal position starting as early as late March and ending in October.
Up to 40 hours per week; hours may vary, including evenings and weekends.
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
