Together Credit Union
The consumer loan processor is responsible for a variety of tasks related to high-quality closing and disbursement of approved consumer loan applications originating through direct and indirect channels, including application quality review, red flag identification, new account opening, and document uploads. This role requires prompt, efficient, and accurate support to member-facing team members and indirect partners to provide high quality service to valued members.
Job Responsibilities
Closely inspects consumer loan applications and documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance to ensure all procedures and policies are adhered to and all underwriting stipulations have been met.
Reviews loan applications for fraud and follows procedures for tracking and escalating to appropriately resolve.
Assures timely loan closing and funding activities across multiple systems (e.g. setting flags, updating statuses, generating loan document packages).
Inputs and updates data, generates necessary electronic and paper documents, and distributes to members via DocuSign for signature.
Collaborates with team members and dealer partners to resolve held indirect contracts and provide effective and efficient service.
Accurately logs each loan disbursement transaction for payment to the dealership.
Completes Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) reviews and opens share accounts for applications that qualify for membership; establishes non- member share accounts when applicable and sets all required restrictive flags.
Supports record retention requirements by uploading and storing loan documents.
Responds promptly to team member and dealer inquiries concerning pending applications via inbound phone calls, Teams chats, and emails.
Assists with clerical duties in the department including new account packets, denial notices, modifications, welcome letters, and any other associated paperwork (e.g. barcoding).
Supports the number one priority of the credit union by promoting a positive relationship between the members (internal and external), dealer partners, and the Credit Union.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s loans products, services, policies, and procedures.
Required Qualifications An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
High school diploma
Minimum of 3 years’ related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) A representation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Fair Lending, Patriot Act, Information Security, and OFAC
Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Sufficient organization skills to include planning and prioritization
Sufficient written and verbal communication skills
Environmental or Atmospheric Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office work conditions.
Hybrid remote and in-office setting; general office environment when in-office (3 days per week)
