Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), PRN
Southwoods Health Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Services is hiring a PRN Outpatient PT or PTA to work at our Calcutta location.
Responsibilities
Follows plans of care established by physical therapist to administer physical therapy treatment to patients suffering from injuries or disease to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability.
Documents patient care services in accordance with regulatory requirements and within time expectation set by facility standards.
Regularly confers with supervising physical therapist and other members of the interdisciplinary team to discuss relevant patient information.
Provides appropriate level of supervision for physical therapist assistant students and unlicensed personnel according to state and federal requirements.
Provides education to patients and patient families as appropriate, including, but not limited to, information on post‑op recovery processes, physician protocols, treatment plan, and home exercise programs.
May plan and conduct in‑services or training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students and/or community groups.
Demonstrates some flexibility in work schedule to meet patient scheduling needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
Active Ohio state physical therapy assistant licensure.
Current AHA BLS certification.
Experience in an outpatient therapy setting, preferred.
Physical Therapist Responsibilities
Administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to patients suffering from injuries or disease to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability.
Reviews physician referral/prescription, patient’s condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment needs.
Develops and revises physical therapy treatment plans as appropriate based on evaluation and continued monitoring of patient strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, respiratory and circulatory function, records, and response to treatment.
Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient’s health care.
Determines referral needs and makes applicable referrals in a timely manner.
Provides appropriate level of supervision for staff physical therapist assistants, students, other licensed personnel and unlicensed personnel according to state and federal requirements.
Documents patient care services in accordance with regulatory requirements and within time expectation set by facility standards.
Provides education to patients and patient families as appropriate, including, but not limited to, information on post‑op recovery processes, physician protocols, treatment plan, and home exercise programs.
May plan and conduct in‑services or training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students and/or community groups.
