Qualifications & Details

Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

A caring & loving personality and demeanor

Leadership and mentorship skills

Ability to work scheduled shift

Ability to read, write & speak English

Responsibilities

Enhance the clinical care and quality of life of our residents and protect all resident rights

Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician

Check all residents daily to ensure prescribed treatment is properly administered and evaluate their physical and emotional status

Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff and related matters

Implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or the Director of Nurses

Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage bag care, blood, sputum and urine specimen collection as established by policies and procedures

Complete all LPN required record‑keeping forms/charts upon admission, discharge, transfer, etc.; file in resident’s chart or forward to appropriate department

Give and receive nursing reports upon shift duty hours

Investigate complaints and grievances and make necessary oral/written reports to RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses

Present a professional image to residents and families through dress, behavior and speech
