What We Offer Function in an expanded role under approved protocols to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care. This role provides care to infants and their families in Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and other hospital areas as needed under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. Responsible for collaboration, consultation, teaching, and supervising.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Graduate of Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program; M.S. in Nursing or Graduated from Accredited Physician Assistant Program; Masters of Medical Science, required.

Experience: Minimum of two years in high risk neonatal care, required.

Licensure/Certification: RN license in NC, approved to practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner by Board of Nursing and NC Board of Medical Examiners; Certified by NCC; OR licensed by NC Board of Medical Examiners as a Physician Assistant; Certified by NCCPA, required.

Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department‑specific skills validation and competency testing.

Physical requirements: Stand and move around majority of the day; climb; lift patients and equipment; push/pull wheelchairs, carts and beds; sit occasionally; bend and stoop; manual dexterity; run; negotiate stairs; and use senses (see, hear, speak, smell, touch).
