Responsibility:
The charge nurse oversees patient admissions, transfers and discharges, mentors and trains new staff, monitors medical charts, provides compassionate care, liaises with doctors and administrators, communicates protocol changes, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintains accurate records.
This position may qualify for a sign‑on bonus.
Job Summary The charge nurse provides guidance and support to staff, maintains a safe environment, ensures patient throughput, and directs nursing staff. The charge nurse works with medical providers to ensure quality patient care, delegates assignments, meets patient acuity needs, and manages the smooth, efficient flow of patients within the unit.
Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
Experience Required: 1 year of RN experience.
Certifications Required: Current licensure/certification or registration to practice in the state of employment, AHA BLS, and, if required by corporate policy for the unit of hire, additional certifications such as AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.
