Vaco is working to identify an experienced
Accounts Payable Manager
to lead and oversee all accounts payable operations for one of our most reputable clients. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor payments while managing the AP team, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor maintenance
Lead, train, and mentor AP staff; manage workload distribution and performance
Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices in accordance with company policies and approval workflows
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
Oversee vendor relationships and resolve complex invoice or payment issues
Review and approve payment runs (ACH, wire, check)
Perform AP-related account reconciliations and support month-end close
Partner with Procurement, Accounting, and Finance teams to improve AP processes and efficiency
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements within AP
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong knowledge of AP processes, internal controls, and best practices
Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing AP for a high-volume or multi-entity environment
Exposure to 1099 reporting and vendor compliance
Experience with AP automation tools (e.g., Tipalti, Bill.com, Coupa)
