Overview
4 days per week (either Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday). 8am‑4:30pm, but may change slightly depending on school hours. Will support dental clinics at KIPP Columbus (charter school) and Grovport Madison. Open to those interested in working during the school year only (August‑May).
Job Description Summary Provides oral health care, dental health education, and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic.
Essential Functions
Examines patients' teeth and gums to identify any oral health issues.
Cleans teeth by removing plaque, tartar, and stains.
Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provides advice on diet and lifestyle choices that can impact oral health.
Administers local anesthesia and applies cavity‑preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants.
Takes and develops dental X‑rays to help diagnose dental problems.
Keeps detailed patient records and maintains a clean and sterile work environment.
Education Requirement
Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school, required.
Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Licensure Requirement
Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, required.
Passed the National Boards, required.
Passed the Northeast Regional Boards, required.
Certifications Certified in CPR, required.
Skills
Robust communication skills, required.
Demonstrates ability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients.
Possesses strong manual dexterity.
Experience Six months of relevant experience, preferred.
