American Consultants is looking for a night LDRP nurse for a contract in Ellensburg, WA.
The
Travel LDRP Registered Nurse
provides comprehensive care to patients throughout the full perinatal experience— labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum , including newborn care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the flexibility to integrate quickly into new hospital environments. Travel LDRP RNs ensure patient safety, support family-centered care, and follow facility policies and evidence-based obstetric practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
Provide nursing care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal heart tones, maternal vital signs, and labor progression.
Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections (scrub or circulate depending on facility requirements), and emergent obstetric interventions.
Manage the recovery period, ensuring stable transition from labor to postpartum.
Deliver postpartum nursing care, including maternal assessment, pain management, breastfeeding support, and patient education.
Perform newborn assessments, routine care, and initiate safety protocols.
Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, cord prolapse, or shoulder dystocia.
Clinical Documentation & Coordination
Accurately chart assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes in the EMR.
Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and support staff.
Maintain infection control and adhere to unit and hospital guidelines.
Support patient and family emotional needs and provide culturally competent care.
Travel-Specific Expectations
Adapt quickly to new environments, policies, and electronic charting systems.
Maintain flexibility with scheduling, unit floating requirements, and hospital protocols.
Complete onboarding, competency checklists, and required certifications per assignment.
Qualifications
Active RN license
(state-specific or compact).
Minimum 1–2 years of recent LDRP, L&D, or Mother–Baby experience
(facility dependent).
Certifications:
BLS (required)
NRP (required)
ACLS (often required)
AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring (commonly required)
Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to perform in high-stress and fast-paced settings.
Preferred Skills
Experience with common EMRs (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
Ability to scrub and/or circulate C-sections.
Competency in lactation education and newborn stabilization.
Prior travel nursing experience (not mandatory but beneficial).
Pay: $3,200.00 - $3,600.00 per week
