Job Summary Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a
Patient Access Supervisor
for a full-time, onsite role in Little Rock, Arkansas. This position oversees daily operations within Patient Access, providing leadership, training, and support to staff across multiple registration and scheduling functions. The Supervisor ensures high-quality service, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflows to support overall patient experience and department performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide daily support, mentoring, and training to new and existing Patient Access staff.
Assist with escalated issues and ensure timely resolution.
Participate in short- and long-term planning for all registration process areas, including Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department, and onsite/offsite clinics.
Maintain positive customer service and guide staff in resolving patient or workflow concerns.
Enforce departmental policies, procedures, and work rules; assist in implementing new policies.
Monitor daily activity and prepare performance and metric reports, including financial clearance and special projects as assigned.
Perform Patient Access functions as needed to support departmental operations.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure operational goals and service standards are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Interview, hire, train, and develop staff.
Plan, assign, and direct daily work.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective actions as needed.
Address employee concerns and support problem resolution.
Directly supervise Patient Access Representatives I–IV.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in healthcare information systems.
Thorough understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and regulatory requirements.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
College degree preferred (Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or related field).
4+ years of experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related setting required.
5+ years of Patient Access experience preferred.
2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be able to work in a seated position for extended periods.
Hospital work environment.
Must be available to work department-required hours and days.
On-call requirements apply as needed.
