About the Role We are seeking an experienced
DME Billing & Claims Submission Specialist II
to support billing operations for durable medical equipment, with a particular emphasis on wound therapy devices. This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent analytical skills, and is committed to accuracy and compliance in every aspect of the billing process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit claims for durable medical equipment to various payers in alignment with department processes.
Review and resolve rejections and denials; update claim information and re-file in a timely manner.
Utilize payer websites, outbound/inbound calls, and email to obtain required billing information from payers, patients, and provider offices.
Work through multiple billing and productivity reports to ensure clean claim submission.
Analyze, prioritize, and manage workload to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly production targets.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow all compliance, privacy, and billing standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or higher (verified prior to start).
2+ years of medical billing or healthcare support experience (1 year considered for strong healthcare/DME backgrounds).
Experience with DME billing and claims preferred.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare billing regulations.
Experience with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in post-acute care environments such as Home Health Agencies, Skilled Nursing Facilities, or Wound Care Centers.
Previous experience billing for wound therapy devices or durable medical equipment.
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data entry.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
