Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) is currently recruiting for up to six (6) Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP) and Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) to join our dynamic team. 42 hours per week POSITIONS:
Up to 6 positions available PAYRATE:
$39.80 per hour Employees will begin their career with LFES in the dedicated EMS division. During your employment, you will have the opportunity to progress between career streams: Dedicated EMS Division Work exclusively as a Paramedic in emergency medical services at your designation (ACP/PCP). Focus on patient care, clinical excellence, and advancing your skills as a paramedic. Option will exist to remain dedicated to EMS operations for the entirety of your career without fire suppression responsibilities. Integrated Fire-EMS Division Transition from the dedicated EMS division and begin fire training to qualify for the role of Paramedic Firefighter within the LFES Integrated Fire and EMS division. Expand your expertise to include fire suppression, rescue operations, and integrated emergency response. Entry into the Integrated Fire-EMS Division will be based on available vacancies. Prior to being eligible to fill one of these vacancies, you will be required to complete the LFES Fire Academy. Scheduling of the academy will be at the discretion of LFES Administration based on operational needs and internal eligibility criteria. What You Bring to the Table: We are looking for a results-oriented team member who demonstrates professionalism and is committed to providing exemplary public service. Qualifications & Experience: Provincial Registration: Candidates must be registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics as Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP). Applications without this registration will not be accepted. Candidates registered as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) are given preference. Minimum Class 4 Driver''s License in the province of Alberta If shortlisted, candidates will be scheduled for the following: Medical written exam and scenario testing Written psychological evaluation exams Qualified candidates must submit a complete application package as one (1) PDF, with the following information, to be considered for this opportunity: Resume Documentation confirming registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics Driver’s abstract (dated within 3 months of the close of this posting) Police Information Check with vulnerable sector search (dated within 3 months of the close of this posting) F.A.R.E. test results (proof of successful completion within 6 months of the close of this posting) Candidates selected to proceed to the final stage of the hiring process will undergo a psychological interview assessment in person. Successful candidates will also be required to pass a comprehensive medical assessment. We understand that there may be a delay in obtaining all these documents and scheduling the F.A.R.E. test.
