FCB Capital Markets works alongside FCB’s Commercial Finance, Middle Market Banking, and Innovation Bank divisions to provide financing solutions for its clients. FCB Capital Markets is hiring a 2026 Analyst I to support the Commercial Finance and Middle Market Baanking businesses. FCB Commercial Finance serves clients through teams specialized by industry (including Aerospace and Defense, Energy, Healthcare, and TMT, amongst others), product (including Asset-Based Lending, Equipment Finance, and Real Estate). FCB Middle Market Banking operates a national geographic-based coverage model serving middle market and corporate clients.
About the Analyst Development Program:
As an Analyst you will participate in the Commercial Bank Analyst Development Program which is designed to build a broad and deep technical skillset through formal classes, online coursework, and on the job training.
The program begins July 8, 2026 on-site at our New York City Office with an 8‑week intensive curriculum where participants learn about:
Underwriting fundamentals
Financial Analysis and Excel Modeling
First Citizens Bank Core Values
Application‑specific training on systems
Business unit overviews with team leaders
Strategic priorities of the Bank
Credit Policies and Procedures
Following the 8 weeks, Analysts join their local teams and stay connected with colleagues through training and professional development sessions. We provide a superior foundation and launchpad for continued success for our Analysts as they begin their careers.
Responsibilities
FCB’s Capital Markets team is responsible for structuring, pricing, and distributing all lead financings originated by FCB’s various lending business units.
Analyists in the Capital Markets group are responsible for supporting the Capital Markets team in all elements of deal execution.
Work alongside industry teams to pitch new business.
Construct comparable company trading, M&A, and debt analyses to assist in the pricing and structuring of transactions.
Prepare transaction materials (lender presentations, confidential information memoranda, and models) to support the syndication of FCB‑led financings.
Actively participate in the investor outreach and diligence.
Capital Markets Analysts are also responsible for various market‑related tasks.
Prepare and distribute FCB’s Leveraged Loan Market Update.
Maintain debt comparables for FCB’s various business units.
Prepare market update presentations for pitches, conferences, and internal meetings.
Role provides opportunity for long‑term career growth within FCB Capital Markets and the broader First Citizens Bank organization.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience in coursework or internship in credit analysis, financial statement spreading, underwriting or risk management OR High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in coursework or internship in credit analysis, financial statement spreading, underwriting or risk management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred with degree in Business Administration, Finance or its equivalent.
One year experience or recent college graduate.
GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Internship or extracurricular experience in financial services (with preference for credit, investment banking, or private equity).
Strong quantitative skills including financial statement analysis.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Ability to multi‑task and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interest in financial products and markets.
If hired in NY, the base pay for this position is generally between $42.37 - $48.08/hr. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non‑discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
