Overview Towncare Dental of Altamonte Springs

is looking for a

Dental Assistant

to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience with an EFDA certificate for FL.

The hours are Monday‑Thursday 8:00‑5:00 with one hour lunch, Friday 8:00‑3:00 with no lunch.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.

Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

Take and develop X‑rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.

Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.

Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

Completion of a one‑year certified dental assistant program, or

Six months on‑the‑job experience (with supporting documentation)

EFDA certification

Nitrous oxides certification is highly recommended

High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
