Mammo Tech 2 PRN Baylor Scott & White Health

Location Baylor Medical Center – Irving, Texas

Shift PRN role – 8‑hour shifts (about 3 days a week, roughly 24 hours a week). Prefer 8:00–16:30 but flexible; one Saturday each month or every other month 8:00–14:00. Most help needed on Mondays and Fridays.

Job Summary The Mammography Technologist II performs advanced breast imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients, under general supervision of a radiologist.

Essential Functions

Perform high‑quality breast imaging procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.

Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients: identify service requirements, ensure correct exam on correct patient, establish rapport.

Prepare patient and area for procedure: positioning, adjusting devices, setting exposure factors.

Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety, infection‑control, drug and radiation policies.

Maintain equipment and work area quality; collaborate with engineers and physicists; report issues; assist in inventory.

Ensure safety by screening personnel per approved policies.

Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation (requisitions, chart, history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms).

Maintain medical imaging records in appropriate system and per department policies.

Key Success Factors

Perform high‑quality breast imaging, including stereotactic biopsies, needle localization, ultrasound‑guided biopsies.

Explain procedures and put patients at ease.

Provide services in a timely, accurate, cost‑efficient manner, complying with system and regulatory standards.

Work autonomously without routine oversight.

Maintain calm and helpful attitude under stress.

Administer first aid and use emergency cart.

Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, reviewing patient satisfaction scores, developing action plans.

Maintain current knowledge and continued education for all age groups.

Serve as preceptor, training new team members on new services and initiatives.

Take call, if required.
