Position Summary We are seeking a qualified Ventilator Patient Specialist to join the Rotech team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing a set number of ALS and/or Pediatric ventilation patients within a defined territory; you will be the primary contact for patient, caregiver and any other entity directly involved with the patient’s ventilation care. (When in the State of MA, the position pays $36/hr–$42/hr based on related experience plus bonus opportunity.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Available for on‑call assignments as needed; responsible for phone consultations during non‑business hours.

Maintain continuing education as required for job performance, state licensure or certification.

Maintain documentation of all services provided and work performed according to Rotech’s policies.

Maintain records and workspace in an organized, safe, clean and neat format.

Maintain up‑to‑date licensure certification or other requirements per state law in the state(s) of practice.

Support orientation and training of other personnel at the direction of the Manager.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by state licensure law or the Manager.

Conduct patient assessment and provide patient education as applicable.

Set up all highly technical respiratory equipment and monitor ongoing function.

Qualifications

Background investigation (company‑wide).

Drug screen (when applicable).

Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable).

Education and Experience

Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care preferred; nursing (RN) may be acceptable depending on state licensure laws.

Credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred but other medical credentials may be acceptable.

Home respiratory care experience preferred or equivalent hospital experience.

May require license in neighboring states for defined service area.

Must be licensed in primary state of home office as required by state law and provide a copy of license to the location.

Pediatric and/or ALS ventilation experience required.

Proficient in the use of equipment download software (Care Orchestrator, Astral, etc.).

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Deductive problem‑solving skills.

Effective communication in English; both oral and written with physicians, employees and patients.

Interpret instructions in a variety of communication mediums.

Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME).

Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion with sensitive information.

Make appropriate recommendations for changes to patient care.

Multitask with attention to detail.

Read and interpret written directions in English.

Review patient charts for compliance with Rotech’s policies and procedures.

Self‑motivation, organization, time‑management and deductive problem‑solving skills.

Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, employees and patients.

Work independently and as part of a team.

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

Email transmission and communication.

Internet navigation and research.

Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word and Excel.

Office equipment: fax, copier, printer, phone and computer/tablet.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry office equipment at times.

Requires close vision to small print on computer/tablet and paperwork.

Contact with patients and equipment that may expose to contagious pathogens.

Occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment.

Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening.

Compliance with Rotech Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy (medical evaluation, annual recertification, clean‑shaven compliance).
