Patient Care Technician – Emergency Department – Day
The Patient Care Technician provides indirect and direct care, including provision for patient dependence needs such as nutrition, hygiene, safety, and physical and psychological comfort measures for patients and their significant others, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role is responsible for performing duties in accordance with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
The work is primarily performed in patient settings, involving extensive interaction with patients, staff, physicians, family members, and visitors. The role requires lifting, bending, stooping, and exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, and has been evaluated as Level 1 in accordance with OSHA definitions for occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D required.
Florida CNA license required.
Hospital PCT/CNA experience preferred.
Current enrollment in a Nursing program (ASN or BSN) and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (must submit unofficial transcript).
Job Details Location: Tampa – TGH Main Campus. Status: On Site. Type: Full‑time. Schedule: Day shift, 7 AM – 7 PM, all 7 days of the week. Minimum salary: $15.45 per hour.
