Registered Nurse – 6 C Clinical Transition Unit
McLaren Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 6 C Clinical Transition Unit.
Position Summary Responsible for assessing physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient within the assigned unit area and planning nursing care to meet those needs. Ensure nursing care plans are carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Adhere to nursing practice standards of McLaren Flint, using the nursing process.
Assess and document patient status on admission and continuously thereafter.
Develop written care plans, including short‑ and long‑term goals and nursing actions.
Schedule
Shift: Night
Daily work times: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
Hours per pay period: 72 (full time)
Weekends: Yes
On call: No
Qualifications General Requirements
Licensed Registered Nurse in Michigan.
BLS certification.
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
Specialty Unit Requirements Cardiovascular Services / CVCU
Minimum 2 years of experience in a cardiac critical care unit, step‑down unit, cardiac cath lab, or emergency department.
ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Preferred for CVCU
Experience in arterial line or venous sheath placement.
Knowledge of intra‑aortic balloon pumps.
Cath Lab
Minimum 2 years of experience in a cardiac critical care unit (2C, CCU, ICU), step‑down units (4C, 9T, 12T), Emergency Department, PACU, Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, or Neuro Interventional Procedures Lab.
ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Preferred for Cath Lab
Experience as a registered nurse in a Cath Lab.
CCRN certification.
Fenton ER
Either two years of ED experience, or one year of ED experience with one year of critical care experience.
ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Endo / Operating Room / PACU / PAT
Minimum 2 years of clinical acute‑care experience.
BLS certified.
Medical Imaging/Radiology
Minimum 2 years of experience in a critical care unit, step‑down unit, cardiac cath lab, ER, or neuro interventional procedures lab.
Competent at starting and maintaining IVs.
12 months of recent experience (within the last 3 years) administering and monitoring moderate sedation.
Competent to interpret 12‑lead EKG.
ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Preferred for Medical Imaging/Radiology
Experience working in MRI and radiology settings.
Nursing Resource
Licensed Registered Nurse in Michigan.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient nursing unit or ER within the last 5 years (PACU, CVCU); exclude 11S, Joint and Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Cath Lab, OR.
Minimum 6 months of proven telemetry monitoring/interpretation experience within the last year or successful completion of McLaren Flint’s Telemetry Monitoring/Interpretation test within the last year.
Partial Hospitalization
ANCC Psych certification within 2 years of hire.
LDRP
NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
Complete Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course and pass the test in accordance with AWHONN standards within 12 months of hire.
