bRN Surgical Acute – Dignity Health
Location: Redding, CA
The incumbent is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members. As a member of the health care team, the RN assists team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management.
Responsibilities
Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e., treatment options, patient placement options)
Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict

Minimum Requirements
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required
1 year recent acute care experience and/or previous nursing practice experience
Current California RN license required
Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required
Current BLS certification required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
If operationally able, will consider training opportunities for those with less than 1 year of acute experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred
Pay Range $52.59 - $71.48 /hour

It is the sole provider of obstetrical services and the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County.
