Role Overview Savara is looking for an intelligent and outgoing candidate to join a team of enthusiastic, creative, and driven individuals to help to shape the development of a world-class Medical Affairs organization supporting the development of molgramostim. This position will participate in multiple activities within the growing Medical Affairs function. The candidate will apply advanced field-based medical experience, subject matter knowledge, and skills supporting medical strategies and in addressing unsolicited requests for medical information from healthcare professionals, managed care organizations, payers, and other formulary decision makers. It is expected that this candidate will develop strong collaborations with clinical investigators and medical thought leaders in the pulmonary therapeutic area. As a part of the US Medical Affairs Organization, the candidate will report to the Senior Director, Field Medical. This is a field-based role. The ideal candidate should reside in the Central (Texas) or West region of the country.

Core Responsibilities

Develop Therapeutic Area (TA) and product expertise

Build relationships with key external stakeholders including, but not limited to, healthcare professionals at key institutions, medical/scientific organizations (e.g., professional societies), patient advocacy groups, and regulators by providing disease state education and communicating the clinical value of Savara’s medicines

Represent Savara externally as a key technical and scientific contact for clinicians (including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, etc.), professional societies, academic and community medical centers, integrated delivery networks, managed care organizations, etc.

Act as a trusted and credible medical/scientific discussion partner by engaging in scientific/medical exchange with HCPs/stakeholders as appropriate including:

Proactive, broad discussion around relevant disease areas

Reactive communication/education on published data (medical/scientific exchange)

Compliant exchange of medical and scientific information for the purpose of information gathering from groups such as medical experts/thought leaders

Identify academic and community respiratory/pulmonary centers to establish relationships and support identification of autoimmune PAP patients

The candidate will contribute to company success through both internal and external medical education and medical/scientific information exchange and support, as well as use their medical/scientific expertise to gather medical insights and to support research/data generation initiatives

Identify qualified investigators to support participation in company-sponsored activities (e.g., speaker, investigator, or consultant) as needed

Work cross-functionally with colleagues in the field across Commercial, Marketing, Medical, etc. to establish ongoing collaborative internal relationships

Operate in a confident and compliant manner within a highly regulated environment Stay up to date with therapy advances, current research, medical scientific knowledge, and detailed knowledge of Savara’s products’ relevant disease areas

Complete all required customer activity documentation, training, expense reporting, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner

Qualifications

Doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD) with at least 5 years of previous Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology/Medical Affairs/MSL/Clinical experience required

Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external customers

Confidence and credibility to partner as peers with commercial counterparts

Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative. Ability to anticipate and adapt to change; strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with partners, investigators, contractors, consultants, and team members across functions

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic planning skills

Ability to work independently yet engage in collaborative decision making to complete tasks in a timely fashion, and function in a rapid‑paced environment

Ability to communicate well with health care professionals. Ability to establish strong relationships with peer groups, professional organizations, and other outside parties

The ideal candidate should reside in the Central (Texas) or West region of the country

Ability to travel 30-40% of the time

Valid driver's license required
