IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR JOB TITLE: Director of Intensive Care Unit
Position Summary Coordinates and provides holistic nursing care for critically ill patients and families from infants to elderly for the best outcomes for the patients
Essential Functions
Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective holistic patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
Analyzes information, develops and implements plan of care, evaluates results and adapts for a safe plan of care
Documents patient care to reflect complete picture of plan of care
Integrates experience and critical thinking skills to ensure safe patient care within scope of practice
Participates in quality improvement activities through identifying, implementing and monitoring process changes.
Non-essential Functions
Completes duty checklists as assigned
Assists with certification requirements of NICHE
Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio
The 24 hour operations of the department requires a weekend and holiday rotation
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
ACLS
PALS
Mental / Emotional Demands
Reads and comprehends instructions, policies and procedures
Applies common sense to carry out instructions given in written or oral form
Reasons and makes critical judgments for betterment of patients
Organizes, prioritizes and performs daily tasks with a minimum of supervision
Stays calm and functions in a crisis or confrontation
Physical Requirements Medium Work
– Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
